Zoi Karagouni

Architect

Zoi has a diverse background in design and obtained her license as an architect in Athens, Greece. Zoi has been involved in several residential and commercial projects over the years however her passion has always been in Art and Furniture design. Zoi’s art work has been published in SOUL magazine and showcased in several exhibitions across Europe including the Olympic Museum of Thessaloniki. She is also featured in a documentary produced by Visual Arts Production Company. Collections of her furniture have been selected for small hotels. Zoi is the founder of ArcFactory, an Architecture Firm & a co-founder of ARCHIform Construction. Zoi's design approach led her to Starbucks in Seattle where she led design for the company’s 8,600 stores retail experiences in the U.S helping drive $25B annual revenue. She created human-centered experiences in all stages of the design process and made sure every store was inspired by the local community. "It makes me happy when I walk into a Starbucks store and still see my design experiences creating unique memories for our 6.5M daily customers". - Zoi Giving back to the community is important to Zoi, so while in Seattle she served on the design board for the City of Redmond, with a population of 65,000 residents and headquarters to large technology companies including Microsoft and 60,000 of their employees. In Redmond she helped the city to create an infrastructure for a sustainable healthy lifestyle for the locals, from public transportation to affordable housing. She then became the director of design for Vivint Smart Home a $1B smart home technology company in Utah, managing the design portfolio for internal and external experiences. One of her favorite parts of the job is that she gets to design experiences for both their 1.5 million customers and 14,000 employees. She led all the retail design innovation, including their 450 in-store experiences, an award-winning 2018 CES booth attended by 180,000 people (named one of the top 20 booths at the show: https://www.exhibitoronline.com/topics/article.asp?ID=2530) and the Vivint Smart Home Utah Jazz Arena (18,000 seat capacity). Zoi currently is the design director at Delta Air Lines the 2nd largest airline in the world where she leads the human-centered design strategy of all airport customer experience from the curb to the gate for Delta globally. Zoi’s designs directly impact the customer experience on the ground by creating a new generation of airport experiences inspired by the diversity of the users for the 9 US and 4 international hubs operating 5,000 flights, serving 1.5M customers a day and helping drive $43B annual revenue.
